It remains to be seen whether PEC Zwolle and Willem II will initiate the restart of the Eredivisie on Friday evening. The people of Zwolle have submitted a request to the KNVB to reschedule the game with the Tilburgers.
There are currently too many corona infections within the selection of trainer Dick Schreuder to meet the conditions of the Dutch Football Association. That states that the clubs must have twelve field players and one goalkeeper available for matches. The club does not mention numbers, but states that the situation is “difficult”.
The KNVB is currently considering PEC’s request, but cannot yet make any announcements about when there will be clarity. “First, the federal doctor will contact the doctor of PEC, after which a decision will be made,” said a spokesperson.
