‘Corona epidemic: more than 100 million people fall below poverty line’

New York: UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has revealed that more than 100 million people have fallen below the poverty line because of the corona.

The devastation of the corona virus has been going on for almost the last two years, causing severe damage to the economy of countries like the United Kingdom and leaving millions in poverty.

In this regard, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has revealed that more than four billion people have received little or no social support during the lockdown during the Corona epidemic.

He said that there were no health care plans for the said persons and no source of income or security.

The UN Secretary-General made the revelations while addressing a meeting of the International Monetary Fund, saying the epidemic had forced more than 100 million people into poverty.

Antonio Guterres warned that unequal distribution of vaccines would lead to the deaths of millions of people from new diseases around the world and prolong the period of economic slowdown that would hit the poorest countries hardest.
