Eight more boxers have tested positive for COVID-19 at the ongoing national camp in Patiala, Punjab. So the number of infected has reached 26, but minor symptoms have been found in all of them. On Wednesday, 12 boxers and six support staff members tested positive. The names of eight other fighters were added to this list on Thursday. In this way, now the number of infected boxers has increased to 20.

Sources associated with the national camp told PTI: “Major boxers Sumit and Rohit Mor and their six practice partners have tested positive. The camp will continue and those who have tested positive are isolated and have minor symptoms. This is not a situation like a second wave.” Support staff members found to be infected include head coach Narendra Rana, coaching coordinator CA Kuttappa and assistant coach Suranjay Singh.
