COP Renews Joma Partnership Through Los Angeles 2028 Olympics

The Portuguese Olympic Committee (COP) and Spanish sportswear giant Joma just shook hands on a fresh deal. This renewed partnership will run through the Los2028 Games. Both groups announced the big news earlier this week. It’s more than just a sponsorship; it’s a smart move designed to help sports federations directly. Plus, it aims to give Portuguese athletes a strong, unified look on the world stage.

This new agreement brings serious perks for national sports federations. They will get great commercial terms on Joma gear. Federations can grab a whopping 50% discount right off the bat. Add another 5% on top of that. If they choose Joma as their official supplier, they get an extra 10% off. That’s a sweet deal for their budgets.

Beyond the discounts, athletes heading to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics get even more. Their competition equipment will be completely free. Federations won’t pay a dime for that specialized gear. Every federation will also get a custom design for their uniforms. It will match the look of the main Olympic Committee gear, but with their own logo proudly displayed.

This unified approach will make Team Portugal truly shine. Imagine seeing all Portuguese athletes wearing similar, distinct national colors at international events. It builds a powerful brand image for “Equipa Portugal.” This also shows how much the Olympic Committee wants to help. They are giving practical, effective support to federations. This helps athletes succeed at every level.

Joma’s commitment to the Portuguese Olympic Committee goes deep. They will supply gear for all Olympic-related events. We already saw the benefits of this support at the European Youth Olympic Festival Skopje 2025. This partnership will also extend to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

Fernando Gomes, who leads the Portuguese Olympic Committee, sounded very pleased. “This deal covers all of Team Portugal’s needs for the LA 28 Olympic Cycle,” he explained. “It gives sports federations great conditions. It also creates a unified look for our Olympic movement like never before.”

Marina López, Joma Sport S.A.’s General Director, echoed that pride. “At Joma, we work daily to offer the best products,” she said. “We focus on new technology and helping those who give their all in sport.” She added, “It’s a true honor to work with the Portuguese Olympic Committee. We share goals of excellence and pushing limits.” López finished by saying, “We are motivated to continue this journey all the way to Los Angeles 2028.”
