A soldier of the Pakistan Army involved in the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Congo was martyred by terrorists.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army, ISPR, Shaheed Babar Siddique was the Guard Commander of the Permanent Operation Base in Maniboy.

6 persons of the terrorist group came to the operational base on the pretext of surrendering and started firing as soon as they reached the check post, the bullet hit the head of Havaldar Babar Siddique who died while receiving medical aid.

According to ISPR, 35-year-old Havaldar Babar Siddique was a resident of Shakargarh and has left a widow and a daughter among the bereaved.

ISPR says that till now 171 soldiers of Pakistan Army have sacrificed their lives for world peace.
