Como Shocks Juventus 2-0; Fàbregas, Tudor Trade Barbs

An unexpected 2-0 Serie A defeat for Juventus against newly promoted Como has ignited a public war of words between the clubs’ head coaches, Igor Tudor and Cesc Fàbregas.

The verbal sparring began before the match, with Juventus coach Igor Tudor making comments that Fàbregas later deemed provocative. Tudor characterized Como as a “fake small club” due to their significant spending.

He also noted that Como’s players were all personally chosen by Fàbregas, a rare and impressive feat. Tudor emphasized the intense pressure on Juventus to always win, stating that his team operates at different levels of expectation.

Following Como’s upset victory, Fàbregas responded sharply to Tudor’s remarks. The Como coach stated that Tudor, leading a club with an impressive history like Juventus, might not fully understand Como’s operational realities.

Fàbregas acknowledged Tudor as a great coach working with great players. However, he underscored the difference in club expectations, noting Como does not face the same constant pressure to win as Juventus.

Como secured their 2-0 victory, handing Juventus their first Serie A defeat of the 2025/26 season. Marc-Oliver Kempf scored in the fourth minute, with Nico Paz adding a second goal in the 79th minute.

When Italian journalists later sought a further comment from Tudor regarding Fàbregas’s remarks, the Juventus coach dismissed the opportunity for more exchanges. “Fàbregas can say what he wants,” Tudor stated.
