In addition to reducing pollution, large companies must seek public awareness, so that consumers learn the importance of choosing products that respect the environment and have a low carbon footprint. In this way, these companies will always seek to use ecological inputs with low environmental impact.
This is the case of Bezoya, a company that sells mineral water in recycled plastic bottles and that for years has been working with the objective of fulfilling all the necessary requirements to offer a product that does not have a negative impact on the planet, from its origin, its packaging factory, its transfers (transport) and the importance of the recycling employee concept .
The company has an objective beyond the economic gain with the sale of its products, which is the reduction of greenhouse gases. For this, in the mineral water packaging part, there is a commitment to eliminate and compensate all emissions generated in the process so as not to leave traces with the intention of being Carbon Neutral in 2022, as expressed on its website.
They have a protected spring in a natural environment, which is carefully preserved. This natural flow of underground water is in the heart of the earth in the Natural Park of Sierra de Guadarrama.
Coming from the rain and snow that fall on the mountain, filtering through the rocks, the water is natural and unique. When going through the stones, its composition gives it its own characteristics that make it a pure water, with a very low degree of mineralization, with a very low index of dry residues (27mg/l), which means it contains a very low amount of dissolved minerals.
At its packaging plant, located in Ortigosa del Monte, the task is carried out in a sustainable way, 100% of the electricity used comes from renewable sources. The establishment has the LEED mark, which means the guarantee of minimizing the environmental impact throughout its life cycle.
On the other hand, 100% of the waste generated at the factory is recovered. Waste recovery is a process through which waste is transformed so that it can be reused or to replace materials in other products or industrial processes.
Mineral water bottles are transported by a fleet of hybrid and electric vehicles that contribute to the environment by emitting 50% less CO2 and 10 times less quantity of nitrogen oxides than conventional vehicles.
Recycling
A plastic bottle, using recycling techniques, takes just 2 months to transform into a new container and this way, an infinite number of times, compared to the centuries it would take to biodegrade under natural conditions (this can take about 500 years) . 🇧🇷 Bottles made from other containers can be remanufactured several times, as long as they are transparent, which is not possible in the case of colored ones.
The bottles with which the water is packaged in Bezoya are 100% made from recycled plastic from another bottle. According to data provided by the company, more than 280 million bottles have already been recycled.
Finally, the company collaborates with a non-profit organization called ECOEMBES, whose objective is to care for the environment through recycling and eco-design of plastic packaging), in the process of selective collection, as well as in the recovery of this waste.
