Colombian Lender Shot While Collecting Fee in Montevideo Neighborhood

A disturbing incident occurred in the La Paloma neighborhood of Montevideo, where a 24-year-old Colombian lender was attacked and seriously injured. The victim, who was collecting a loan payment, suffered gunshot wounds and is currently receiving treatment at the Hospital del Cerro’s intensive care unit.

The attack happened near the intersection of a lateral passage to Route 1 and Agustín Estrada. When the police arrived, they found the victim lying on the ground, bleeding from several wounds. According to the victim’s statement, he had been attacked while attempting to collect a loan payment.

The victim suffered significant trauma, including skull fractures and bleeding in the head and back. Upon arrival at the hospital, he was unconscious and was immediately transferred to the intensive care unit for further treatment.

Investigation and Arrest

The police have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the attack. Notably, the suspect has no prior criminal record, according to available information.
