College baseball started; Pereyra reiterates support Reserves

Dominican baseball once again found the friendly hand of BanReservas to support it in its respective activities and the opening that took place on Saturday was very special, since it very directly unites this discipline with education.

Samuel Pereyra, Administrator of BanReservas, was proud of the support provided by the entity that directs the birth of the University Baseball League, an entity that started Saturday with eight universities, which will compete in the BanReservas Cup.

“We already salute the birth of this league, as well as the brilliant work that Junior Noboa is doing as the National Baseball Commissioner and in initiatives like this we cannot be left behind,” said Pereyra, after giving the keynote speech at the opening held at the Stadium number 2 of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.

He added that BanReservas since the administration began, together with the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, has given its full support to sports in general, but especially to baseball,” Pereyra explained minutes before making the pitching of honor that opened the contest with a first match between the UASD and UNAPEC.

Noboa: Young people will fulfill their dreams  

Junior Noboa, Baseball Commissioner, said that with the opening of this University Baseball League, there will be many young people who will see their dreams come true, since they have the double function of playing baseball and studying.

“That’s why when Sócrates Aguasvivas put this project on my table, I immediately said yes and that we would work together to materialize it and see how it becomes a reality today,” Noboa said.

He adds that the main interest is to contribute to the dream of many young people who want to be baseball players, but who also have their aspirations very high to be magnificent professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, architects.

“Working with our universities, `we will be able to continue uniting sport with study, a complicity that the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, has always shown must co-exist and on our part we are contributing to make it happen”, he stated.
