Protesting for racial equality in the United States cost Colin Kaepernick his job as a starting quarterback in the NFL and, at 35, he hopes he has a chance to win it back.
In an interview with Gilberto Manzano from Sports Illustrated with the aim of promoting a new video game, Kaepernick revealed that he still longs to return to the NFL since he trains six days a week and competing one-on-one with quarterbacks like Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen is one of his dreams.
“I will continue insisting, I will continue fighting because I know that I can jump on the field and play. Every training session, every opportunity I have shown it. Feedback has been positive ‘He’s still an elite player’ to ‘Training went better than expected,’” said Kaepernick,
The 35-year-old veteran had a workout with the Raiders last year ahead of the 2022 NFL season and said he has heard many excuses for why he isn’t signed.
