The Bahrain communicated the contract renewals of Matej Mohoric and Sonny Colbrelli in agreements until 2023. Both riders have been two of the most outstanding of the team and of the season. The eSloveno was proclaimed champion of his country, achieved two victories in the Tour (he became number 102 to win a stage in the big three) and a day in the Tour of the Benelux. At 26, he is an all-rounder with a huge present and future: “I always trusted this project. This season I think that we finally proved that we are one of the best squads in the world, and I am very proud to continue here ”.
Colbrelli, Italian, 31, has lived his most outstanding campaign as a professional, with eight goals: partial in Romandie and Dauphiné, Italian and European championships, stage and general in Benelux, the Pantani Memorial and, above all, the Paris-Roubaix, his first monument. “I am very happy to stay in a structure that is like family to me. I am one of the few to wear this jersey since 2017, my first World Tour debut season with Bahrain. I can say that I grew up with this group and I am more than grateful ”.
