COD will recognize medalists of the Panam Juveniles de Cali-Valle

The Dominican Olympic Committee (COD) will recognize this Thursday the medalists of the First Junior Pan American Games Cali-Valle 2021, in the framework of a lunch in their honor.

The activity will take place in the Juan Ulises García Saleta room (Wiche), starting at 11:00 in the morning.

In addition to the medalists, including team sports, the coaches, delegates and federations that had athletes on the podium of those games will also be recognized.

“We are going to share with our emerging heroes, with those hard-working young people who gave themselves to honor the Homeland and the Olympic sports movement,” declared Antonio Acosta, president of the COD.

It emphasizes that each and every one of the athletes will be recognized according to their results with the delivery of certificates.

“We are highly satisfied and very grateful for the great effort made by our athletes who were accompanied by their coaches and delegates in these games,” stressed the top leader of the COD, who will be accompanied by other directors of that body at this event.

He replied that the presence of almost 200 Dominican athletes participating in those games is a demonstration that the National Sports Federations work, not only with high-performance sports, but also with their grassroots athletes (children and youth) because they understand that there the elite relay that goes to the events of the Olympic Cycle is formed.

The Dominican Republic finished with 23 medals at the 2021 Cali-Valle First Youth Pan American Games, including five gold, eight silver and ten bronze.
