Coco Gauff just lived every athlete’s worst nightmare. The tennis star showed up to her first-round match at Roland Garros without her rackets. Yeah, you read that right.
Gauff blames her coach for the mishap. Apparently, he’s the one who usually packs her bags because he’s superstitious. “My coach always puts my rackets in the bag,” she said. “I guess that’s his job now.”
The match got delayed for a bit while they waited for the ball boy to fetch her rackets from the locker room. But once she had her gear, Gauff dominated the court, beating Olivia Gadecki 6-2, 6-2.
