Cochin University Denies Ties to Event Hosting Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi

The Cochin University of Science and Technology has denied any connection to the Cuba-UAE organization. This organization recently hosted an event in Dubai, honoring Pakistani cricketers Shahid Afridi and Umar Gul. In a press release, the university stated that it has no relation to Cuba-UAE.

The university’s student union, known as the CUSAT Alumni Association (CAN), claimed it had no knowledge of the event in Dubai. The university assured that its student union would not engage in any activity that could harm the country’s image. It also dismissed rumors of being involved in the Dubai event as baseless.

Following the university’s statement, speculations arose that the event in Dubai might be linked to Pakistani intelligence agencies. There are allegations that the event could be a ploy to discredit India’s efforts, particularly the Sindhu operation, which involves a multi-party delegation visiting foreign countries.

The event in Dubai has raised suspicions due to reports of high-ranking Pakistani officials attending. Shahid Afridi, known for making venomous statements against India, was also present. It is alleged that Afridi has close ties with the Pakistani army and ISI.

This is not the first time Shahid Afridi has been involved in anti-India activities. He has a history of making inflammatory statements against India and the Indian army. In the past, Afridi organized a victory rally in Karachi after India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire. During the rally, he delivered a provocative speech, claiming that India and its army always blame Pakistan for every incident. This statement came at a time when terrorists had killed 26 innocent people in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.
