Cloning of “Supercow” that gives 18 tons of milk per year

Chinese scientists have claimed to have cloned a cow capable of producing around 50 kg of milk per day.

Chinese biologists have for the first time cloned a high-yielding Holstein cow capable of producing 18 tons of milk annually.

According to the foreign newspaper ‘Global Times’, scientists from China’s Northwestern University of Agriculture and Forestry cloned 3 calves through somatic cell nuclear transfer using animal ear tissue.

According to the newspaper, the leader of the research team, Jin Yaping, said that this experiment is very important for the restoration of cattle in China because 70 percent of the cows in China are bought from abroad.

He added that we plan to produce more than 1,000 super cows in two to three years, which will be a strong foundation to address China’s dependence on animal supplies from abroad.

It is reported that Chinese scientists have conducted several successful cloning experiments in recent years, especially pigs, horses, cats, dogs and other animals.
