This year the production of fruit and vegetables in France was slowed down by a summer when the sun was long overdue and a spring marked by severe frosts. Some fruits and vegetables have seen their prices soar in stores.
With a decrease in production of certain fruits and vegetables, and strong consumer demand, prices are soaring, but not those of producers.
The drop in production is not yet reflected in supermarkets.
Some consumers have gotten into the habit of coming directly to the producers. The greenhouses have made it possible to produce certain fruits and vegetables, but this production remains lower than that of a field.
