The most important beauty pageant in the Dominican Republic is coming up: Miss RD Universe 2023, to be held between the end of August or the beginning of September. Given such an event of national beauty, one of the candidates of the contest that could be crowned as the most beautiful woman in the country and replace Andreina Martínez, would be Miss Santo Domingo Oeste, Lisbeth Ariaswho is a climate activist and is fluent in English and Italian.
Lisbeth Arias Ravelo, 27, became the youngest Magister in the Dominican Republic in Public International Law and International Relations. In addition to having a master’s degree in International Protocol, she has a diploma in Negotiation and Climate Diplomacy, public speaking studies, digital marketing, political communication and neurolinguistic communication, according to what she highlights in her resume.
“I was motivated because I love to help, serve and inspire others. And it would be a dream come true for me to be able to do it from this platform”, says the representative of Santo Domingo Oeste.
From the platform, the woman learns to love herself, to know herself, to get out of her comfort zone, to project her true self and to be a role model for society through the message that she promotes within Arias’s curriculum, which stands out: Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Corporate, Strategic Communication consultant, protocol and personal brand, master of ceremonies and specialist in Public Relations.
The candidate for the crown of Miss RD Universo, is also an entrepreneur and altruist, which is why she projects herself as a Climate Ambassador, allying herself with brands that promote green causes in order to support initiatives in favor of the fight against climate change and for years For more than thirteen years, he has developed great interests in contributing to volunteer projects and social work, with the aim of contributing to the socioeconomic and cultural growth of the country in a sustainable manner.
His passion for climate issues was born when he led the team of more than 60 volunteers at the VI Environmental Film Festival in 2016, since then he has coordinated more than four beach and coast cleaning days, has participated in 4 national reforestation days where the sum of these plantings rises to more than two thousand plants, harmonized slip public spaces with paint whose emissions into the environment are minimal, led the volunteer and protocol teams of the Climate Week of Latin America and the Caribbean 2022 and in its last birthday promoted Urban Gardens in homes.
In December 2022, she created the character of the Green Saint, with which she benefited more than 800 boys and girls together with the Rincón de Luz Foundation, Jompéame and CDN Canal 37. Lisbeth has also voluntarily built houses in areas vulnerable communities in the country together with TECHO and HÁBITAT from the Dominican Republic. In her coronation as Queen of the Herrera Carnival 2023, she promoted the circular economy through supra-recycling or UpCycling, as well as local talent, by dressing for the Up Cycling Collective who created a dress for her with recycled pieces.
Currently, he has various climate projects in the pipeline to be developed in the country, initially in his municipality, Santo Domingo Oeste, and by conquering the crown of Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2023, in the world.
Lisbeth Arias considers that Miss Dominican Republic is the ideal platform to project beauty with a purpose, encouraging and involving children, youth and women to empower themselves in climate issues in which “we are currently so affected”.
