After conquering the Champions Leaguehe Manchester City intends to make its stadium one of the main sports attractions on the continent. His project has recently been approved by the city council. Green light for a plan in which the celestial will spend more than 350 million euros.
The investment will serve to remodel the north end of the etihad stadium, expanding the capacity of the venue from 53,400 spectators to 60,000. At the top of this new stand will be a bar overlooking the pitch and a covered walkway at the top of the stadium. In addition, Manchester City intends to build a club museum, a new store, as well as cover the area where fans spend the hours before and after games. The Mancunian club will also build a hotel attached to the stadium with up to 400 beds.
It is estimated that the works begin in November, and that they finish at the end of 2026, although the club intends to inaugurate the new stands during the 2025-26 season. Barely eleven years after the last refurbishment, completed in 2015, which increased the capacity of the Etihad Stadium from 48,000 spectators to the current figure of 53,400.
