The cousin of the former River midfielder, Ezequiel Ciriglianowho was arrested for entering a house in the Buenos Aires town of Caseros with a firearm, targeted the Núñez club by stating that “his problem stems from the uprooting of the club that formed him.”
In radio statements, the soccer player’s relative said that River “He formed him, raised him up and put him as captain, as a star, as a figure for the future”and that “suddenly, the answers, the mistreatment and the lack of restraint caused him to fall into a depressive pit”.
He added that “the public knows him as a great player, but we know him as a family and he is a great person. All his life he dedicated himself to his family, to the people, to his friends, in fact he never wanted to leave the neighborhood, his friendships… He is a person completely oblivious to fame, fortune and money”.
He pointed out, via D Sports Radio, that “it is not easy for a 20-year-old boy to be in a situation where everyone praises you, where they tell you that you are a genius, a phenomenon, an idol and suddenly you are the worst person on the planet.” . He also remarked that “Ezequiel has a depression that over time is very difficult to handle” and “through the support of family and friends, he got up, felt stronger and was able to play again. The only thing he wants, today, as a person, is to be calm and be well.”
Cirigliano was arrested last Sunday, charged with illegal possession of a weapon of war and violation of the addressas confirmed by police sources to Noticias Argentinas, for which he was transferred to the 1st Caseros Police Station.
