Cibao FC transfers its successes to both branches in the National Sub-16

Cibao FC continues to write stories in soccer in the Dominican Republic and now it is the boys and girls who stand out in the U-16 National Tournaments for men and women.

The inexperienced players of the eleventh orange are the champions of the North Zone of the National Championship, by beating the Jonathan Faña School 2-1, in a match held at the Moca Sports Center.

Player Del Villar gave Cibao FC an early lead when he scored a goal, when the match was barely played in the 13th minute to define the monarch of the North.

In the 82nd minute through Elián, Cibao FC began to sniff out the title with the score 0-2.

Although the youngsters from the Jonathan Faña School discounted at the end, it was not enough to prevent the victory of Cibao FC.

Now, the orange eleventh will face the Barca RD Academy that was proclaimed champion of the South-East eliminating Los Villanos.

The match was tied at 90 minutes, so two 15-minute overtimes had to be played and it was not defined either, so they had to go to the penalty line, where Barca Academy RD took the title.

To determine the national champion, both eleventh will be measured on Saturday at the Parque del Este stadium.

While the women’s team of Cibao FC that played in the National U-16 Tournament, humiliated San Francisco de Macorís Fútbol Club 0-14.

The girls from Santiago were led by Angie Abreu who scored a “hand”, scoring five goals in the match.

Another that stood out was Giocarla Durán, who did a “hat trick”, beating the opposing goalkeeper three times, for a trio of goals contributed in the win.

Jeanery Díaz scored two goals for the Cibao FC girls, Marcela Zimbrón, Elinee Núñez and Clemeryn Luna with one each, plus there was an own goal.
