Chus Mateo: “You have to try to climb steps”

The Real Madrid coach, Chus Mateo, assured that the team must “change the chip” for tomorrow’s game against Valencia Basket and “continue taking steps forward in the League, try to climb the steps and not lose at home”.

You have to change the chip. We have to be focused and prepared to face a match that is going to be very difficult. It’s a good team, we come from winning and sometimes that confuses. We played in less than 48 hours and it is also a factor, so we will try to start the match in the right direction and continue it in such a way that we have a chance to win”, he stated.

After the victory in the last day of the league against Betis (55-73), with which he established himself in second place, and yesterday in the Euroleague in Istanbul against Fenerbahche (71-85), Mateo pointed out that his intention is to face tomorrow’s shock “with a good mentality and get one more game in front of our fans, who leave their souls in each match”.

In statements to the club’s media, the Real Madrid coach considered it key that “all” the players “who enter contribute and are all prepared to do their job.”

“Because what is won is as a team, not individually. Everyone has to do an important job and be able to contribute and add, in one way or another, offensively and defensively, with shots, with points or with rebounds and good defenses”, he added.
