Christian Nodal secured a significant win at the 2025 Latin GRAMMYs. The Mexican singer surprised many by taking home the award for ‘Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album’. His father-in-law, Pepe Aguilar, was also nominated in the same category.
Nodal, 26, shared a tender moment with his family following the announcement. He kissed Ángela Aguilar and embraced Pepe Aguilar, 57, before ascending the stage to accept his trophy. Aguilar offered a congratulatory smile, signaling their positive relationship.
Pepe Aguilar had openly praised Nodal on the red carpet prior to the awards. Speaking to Univision’s Jomari Goyso and Migbelis Castellanos, Aguilar described his son-in-law as “a great guy.” He added that Nodal had “won over the whole family.”
Aguilar also characterized Nodal as “very affectionate and respectful.” He expressed his wish for Nodal to win, stating, “I already have many… it would make me very happy, I swear to you by my parents in heaven, and it stays in the family.” This confirmed the absence of any musical rivalry.

Beyond his award, Nodal utilized the Latin GRAMMYs platform to confirm his religious wedding plans with Ángela Aguilar. The ceremony is scheduled for May 2026.
He revealed that the couple envisions a “super Mexican” celebration in Zacatecas. Details include tacos, tequila, good music, food, and good company.
Nodal reflected on the challenges they have faced. He affirmed that they have “already passed the most difficult part.”
