Chris Evans is open to returning as the Human Torch in the MCU

Before being the Captain America whom we have known for more than eight years within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Evans played the Human Torch in the two feature films Fantastic Four headed by Tim Story (2005 and 2007). Like that of Josh Trank in 2015, the two super-heroic films did not really mark the spectators by their kitsch side. A reboot will be set up during the year 2023, even if it is not yet known who will be invested in the project, after the resignation of Jon Watts (MCU’s Spider-Man franchise). Only near certainty, John Krasinskylong hoped for Mr Fantastic and who appeared in the role for Doctor Strange 2should come back in Reed Richards.

For the rest of the cast, it’s still unclear. In the net trends, many imagine Emily Blunt in Susan Storm or Zac Efron in Human Torch. But there is a very serious candidate for the role and not the least: Chris Evanscandidate for his own succession.

In a new interview with MTV News for the promotion of Lightyeara spin-off from Buzz Eclair, Chris Evans shared some thoughts on his future in the superhero world. He was asked about the possibility of returning as Johnny Stormaka the Human Torchmovies Fantastic Four. The comedian proved to be amused by the idea and revealed that he would be open to it, much more than he would be when returning as a Steve Rogers.

“Wouldn’t that be great?” No, no one has ever come to see me about it. I mean, I don’t look exactly like myself anymore. It was 15 years ago, almost 20 years ago. But I love this character… Yeah, listen, I would! I’d love it. It would actually be an easier sell for me than coming back as Cap. You know, Cap is so precious to me, and I almost don’t want to disrupt what a great experience it was by stepping back into the role. But, Johnny Storm, I feel like he really hasn’t had his day. That was before Marvel really found its footing. I really like this role, so who knows. »

Since he has not completely ruled out a return to Captain America, it is therefore not impossible to see Chris Evans again in the spans of the MCU.
