Chris Duarte suffers an ankle injury; out for several weeks

Dominican Cris Duarte will miss 4 to 6 weeks after suffering a grade 2 ankle sprain last Friday in the last game of the Indiana Pacers, in which they won 101-99 against the Miami Heat.

Last season, the Dominican in 55 games averaged 13.1 points per game, 2.1 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 28 minutes of action, being considered one of the candidates for the rookie of the year award at the beginning of the campaign, but due to the injuries he sustained was considerably lowering this possibility.

The Pacers decided to cut Duarte from the team in the final games of last season because of a sore left big toe. Duarte had just recorded his best offensive performance, scoring 30 points in the Brooklyn Nets’ victory over the Indiana Pacers.
