Chosen hires reinforcement De Goti; Severino close to making his debut

The infielder Alex De Goti will play as a reinforcement for the Leones del Esgido, as announced on Thursday by the Operations management of the capital team.

De Goti, who plays second base, shortstop and third baseman, has been in the country since last Monday and has been getting in tune in the parallel league. His entry to his game could be this very weekend.

The 27-year-old player comes from participating with the Sugar Land Space Cowboys team, AAA branch of the Houston Astros, where he hit .253 with a .352 on-base percentage, .729 OPS, 9 home runs, 69 RBIs, 77 runs scored and 28 doubles in 135 games.

Precisely with the Astros, the right-handed hitter made his Major League debut during 2021, participating in two games in which he went 2-6 with 1 RBI.

For De Goti, who is Cuban-American, it will be his first experience in the autumn-winter circuits.

Another who prepares his entrance to the Lions is Pedro Severino. The catcher, who was one of the main acquisitions of the Chosen in the offseason and who has 8 years of experience in the Major Leagues, has been practicing all week with the team and would also be joining the action this weekend.

The Lions will return to the field this Friday in San Francisco de MacorĂs to face the Cibao Giants from 7:00 at night.
