The air in the Louis Vuitton atelier in Paris buzzed with excitement. Chloë Grace Moretz and Kate Harrison had arrived for their final wedding dress fittings. With their big day fast approaching, they were simply radiant, ready to step closer to walking down the aisle.
On Monday, September 1, Vogue‘s official Instagram account shared a special glimpse. Behind-the-scenes photos showed the detailed process each bride went through, getting their dream dresses just right. It was clear these weren’t just any dresses; they were crafted with love and a vision unique to the happy couple.
Chloë, at 28, chose a traditional "something blue" for her ceremony gown. It was an extravagant dress with a sparkling, see-through top. The look perfectly captured the magic of "old Hollywood." A long, flowing cathedral veil and matching gloves completed her stunning ensemble. French fashion designer Nicolas Ghesquière, the brilliant mind behind the dresses, was truly impressed. He told Chloë, "You and Kate had such a clear vision," after she praised his excellent work.
Chloë shared with Vogue magazine that she knew exactly who she wanted for this special task. "When we got engaged, I knew right away I wanted to reach out to Nicolas and Louis Vuitton to see if he would be interested in making my wedding dress," she explained. Nicolas’s answer was more than just a "yes"; he was "sumamente emocionada," or incredibly excited. He wasn’t only keen to design Chloë’s dress, but also wanted to involve Kate and create both their wedding gowns and their after-party outfits.
Kate, a 34-year-old model, had her own distinct style in mind for her ceremony dress. She specifically wanted a piece with a fitted waist. This, she noted, would "highlight my silhouette." She also wished for a "soft sweetheart neckline." Ghesquière met her wishes perfectly, adding decorative details throughout the dress. It truly became a "flowing embroidery artwork," earning high praise from Kate.
The fashion journey didn’t end with their ceremony looks. For the after-party, Chloë chose a custom jacket and pants. This chic outfit took inspiration from a model’s look on a 2019 Louis Vuitton runway. Kate also brought her A-game to the after-party. She looked glamorous in a bodice and pants, softened by a sheer, transparent overlay. Delicate metallic straps and buttons added the perfect finishing touches to her outfit.
These final fittings were a moment of pure joy and anticipation. "We’re overwhelmed, but in a good way," Chloë said with a happy sigh, seeing her finished gowns for the first time. She described the process, mentioning this was their third fitting. The first was a "toile," just the basic shape. The second was about 98% done. "Today will be 100%," she added, confirming everything, including the veils, was absolutely perfect.
Kate couldn’t agree more, noting that everything was finally starting to feel "real." Their wedding, planned for Labor Day weekend, marked a new chapter. It followed seven beautiful years together as a couple.
