Chivu to Replace Simone Inzaghi as Inter Milan Coach

Cristian Chivu is set to take the reins at Inter.
The Romanian met with club officials last night and things went smoothly.
He’s expected to sign a two-year deal with the Milan club today.

Chivu was spotted with director Dario Baccin at a hotel in the city center.
Later, president Beppe Marotta and director Piero Ausilio were seen leaving the building.

Inter chose Chivu to replace Simone Inzaghi, who’s heading to Al-Hilal.
They first wanted Cesc Fàbregas, but Como wouldn’t let him go.
Fàbregas also wanted to stay with his current project.

Patrick Vieira from Genova was another option, but Chivu is the more realistic choice.
He’s available after a short stint with Parma in February.
Chivu has strong ties to the Lombardy club.

Today, Chivu will head to the club’s headquarters to sign a contract worth around 1.5 million euros per season.
This two-year deal will be his next step in coaching.
Chivu’s experience as a player and youth coach for Inter will help him in his new role.
