Chitrangda Singh defends Housefull 5 amid criticism

Chitrangda Singh is standing up for her latest film, Housefull 5, after it faced criticism for objectifying women. In a chat with Bollywood Hungama, Chitrangda said every film has its own style and rhythm. She pointed out that not all movies can be socially correct or political. Chitrangda added that Akshay Kumar, her co-star in the film, has done movies like Padman, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, and Kesari, which are socially relevant.

Chitrangda emphasized that as an actor, she has played a range of roles, from strong, socially conscious women to glamorous characters. She mentioned that she has acted in films like Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and Inkaar, and also done item numbers like Kafirana and Kundi. Chitrangda clarified that just because she portrays certain characters on screen, it doesn’t mean she is like that in real life.

The actress believes that sometimes we need to be in a different mood, and not everything has to be socially or politically correct. Chitrangda said the goal of Housefull 5 is to entertain, and it has been cleared by the censor board. She thinks that we can’t dictate how everyone should think or feel, and that’s what makes life interesting.

Housefull 5, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, features an ensemble cast, including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, and Jacqueline Fernandez, among others. The movie is known for its adult comedy, and Chitrangda thinks it’s a fun, lighthearted film that audiences will enjoy.
