China launches seasonal flu vaccination

BEIJING: China has launched an annual seasonal flu vaccination campaign.

According to the details, a vaccination campaign for seasonal flu has started in China, priority groups have also been identified for this campaign.

According to the State Council’s Interagency Task Force, priority groups include medical personnel, large event participants, deserving people in nursing homes and welfare centers, as well as childcare centers, kindergartens, primary and secondary schools.

People aged 60 and over, children aged 6 months to 5 years, patients with chronic diseases and people at high risk of infection are also among the most likely to be vaccinated.

People in priority groups in the local population are being encouraged to be vaccinated, with officials saying there should be a gap of at least 14 days between the Novel Coronavirus vaccine and the flu vaccine.

Experts say the annual flu vaccine is the best way to prevent seasonal colds, as they significantly reduce the risk of flu infections and serious complications.
