Once again Doklam has come under controversy due to Chinese activities. This area bordering India-Bhutan and China has always been in dispute. The reason for being in dispute is because of infiltration by China.

Actually, China wants to use the Doklam area against India. Recently, through satellite photos, it has been found that China is illegally building houses in this area. After these pictures surfaced, Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pandey has reached Bhutan on a tour. This visit of General Manoj Pandey is very important in view of the increasing activity of China in the Doklam region, which is considered strategically very important and the border dispute between India and China. However, by issuing a statement on the visit to Bhutan, the Indian Army Chief has spoken of the strengthening of relations between India and Bhutan. Statement from the Ministry of External Affairs of India

After satellite images of a house built in the Doklam area surfaced, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said that India is continuously monitoring all developments related to national security and is taking necessary steps to protect its interests. It is believed that along with the Doklam situation, the issue of Chinese activities in the region has also been taken up with General Pandey’s Bhutanese counterpart on the agenda of his serious talks.

What is Doklam controversy

Bhutan shares a border of more than 400 km with China. So far, Bhutan has held more than 24 rounds of talks with China to resolve the border dispute. Actually, Doklam may be located in Bhutan, but it is a very important area from the strategic position. China can capture it and capture the ‘Chicken Neck’ going to the northeastern states of India. Due to this apprehension, India remains fully alert. This is the reason that in 2017, Indian soldiers were standing in front of the Chinese army for about 73 days in Doklam. In the end, China had to withdraw its troops after conceding defeat. In the year 2017, a total of 73 days of war between India and China at the Doklam tri-point had become a situation. At that time Bhutan had said that it was its territory and India supported Bhutan’s claim.
