United Nations: Looking at the last few months, India has targeted China on several occasions in global forums. On Monday, India has targeted the dragon directly from the United Nations platform. India cautioned China against “double standards” on the issue of fighting terrorism and said any “coercive or unilateral” action that seeks to change the status quo violates the principle of shared security. India also said that there can be shared security only when countries respect each other’s sovereignty.
China had called the UNSC meeting
India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ruchira Kamboj while addressing the UNSC meeting on ‘Promoting Common Security through Dialogue and Cooperation’ on Monday said that all countries should respect each other’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and international security. Agreements must be respected. Let us tell you that this meeting of UNSC was called by China itself, and India took it directly on target in this. China is the chairman of the Security Council for August and has veto power in the 15-member council.
Kamboj also targeted Pakistan
Taking a jibe at China and its close ally Pakistan, Kamboj said, “Common security is possible only when all countries stand together against common threats like terrorism and do not adopt double standards.” India’s Permanent Representative to the UN did not stop at this only and she also targeted China for its aggressive stance in the region. “Any coercive or unilateral action that seeks to change the status quo is a violation of shared security,” Kamboj said.
China got ‘knowledge’ in its own meeting
“Shared security is possible only when countries respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, just as they expect their sovereignty to be respected,” Kamboj said. Shared security is possible only when countries respect bilateral or multilateral agreements made with others and do not act unilaterally. This statement of Kamboj is being considered towards the incident of violation of border agreements by China by mobilizing troops in eastern Ladakh in 2020.
China adopts a dual approach on the issue of terrorism
Also, Kamboj’s statement fits with the aggression that China has shown towards Taiwan in recent times. Let us inform that apart from this, China has been obstructing India’s path with the notorious terrorist Masood Azhar operating from Pakistan and has been defending him in the United Nations.
