China and Saudi Arabia agree to increase regional and global cooperation

Riyadh: On the occasion of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Saudi Arabia, the two countries agreed to increase regional and global cooperation.

According to the joint statement issued by China and Saudi Arabia, the countries discussed the issues of Russia, Ukraine, Iran’s nuclear program, Yemen, Syria and Lebanon.

The two countries called for a negotiated settlement of the Russia-Ukraine conflict while reiterating the need to focus on a peaceful solution to Iran’s nuclear program.

The leaders supported efforts for a peaceful solution in Yemen and Syria while vowing to make joint efforts to resolve the Lebanon crisis.

China and Saudi Arabia agreed to establish a committee on bilateral investment and energy and trade issues, along with enhancing regional and global cooperation.

The countries agreed to further strengthen relations in the future while the meetings jointly emphasized the importance of a stable global oil market.
