China: Air France plane urgently lands in Beijing after “technical incident”

The airline reported no injuries on the flight.

Scare the passengers of flight AF393. This Air France plane bound for Paris had to make a U-turn early on Saturday, September 18, just after taking off from Beijing after a “technical incident”, announced in the morning the airline, specifying that the device had landed “normally”.

The crew of flight AF393 in a Boeing-777 “decided to return to Beijing after 14 minutes of flight due to the detection of a technical incident”, announced the operator in a press release. “The aircraft landed normally in Beijing at 4:03 am (local time)”.

According to The Beijing Daily, “an explosion was heard in the back of the cabin and black smoke arose” inside the device. “Fortunately, no one got hurt”, writes the local newspaper. Air France did not comment on this information, nor did the Chinese airport authorities.

According to a statement from Air France, customers have been served by the company “and will be redirected to Paris as soon as possible”.

“Maintenance operations will be carried out on the device in question before it is put back into service”, added the carrier, without specifying whether it intends to use the same device for stranded passengers. The flight was initially expected in Paris at 7:45 am local time.
