Children from different neighborhoods share with the National Police

The director general of the National Police, Major General Eduardo Alberto Then, and commanders of that institution, once again received dozens of boys, girls, adolescents and young people at their main headquarters today who participated in sports, recreational and cultural activities, an initiative framed within of the institutional transformation process promoted by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader.

The meeting, organized on the front esplanade of the Police Palace by Colonel Jacobo Mateo Moquete, commander of the Sports Department, allowed community leaders from different sectors to exchange views with Major General Alberto Then, who took the opportunity to reiterate the commitment to work together with society as a whole to continue improving and strengthening the levels of citizen security.

“We are happy, joyful and very satisfied to see all these boys and girls share happily at the headquarters of our institution,” said the Director General of the Police. He thanked the visit of the children, adolescents and young people to the headquarters of the institution. At the same time, he congratulated the coaches and community leaders for the good teaching they are providing to the youngsters.

Meanwhile, Colonel Moquete thanked Major General Alberto Then for the support he has been providing so that police proximity becomes a reality. On his side, Adriano Meregildo, recognized community leader of the Loma del Chivo sector, in this capital, highlighted the real and effective rapprochement of the current Police leadership with the community.

It also highlights the active participation of high competition athletes who are part of the police ranks, such as the Olympic medalist and immortal Dominican Sports, Gabriel Mercedes; Crismery Santana, Beatriz Pirón, Penélope Polanco, Jander Santos, Luis Sosa, Jancel González and Johan Batista, among others.

The athletes showed satisfaction in participating with the young people to whom they transmitted their experiences throughout their careers in the world of sports.

The community sports program developed at the Police headquarters included basketball, volleyball and domino games. While in recreation the handkerchief games, sack races and others stand out.
