Chief selector Shahid Afridi recited ballads in praise of Sarfaraz, also fiercely praised Babar

The Pakistan cricket team showed a very good game on the first day of the first test against New Zealand. Pakistan had lost two wickets for 19 runs and three wickets for 48 runs. After this the innings were flat for a while, but then the team’s fourth wicket was also dropped by 110 runs. After this, Babar along with Sarfaraz Ahmed who was playing test matches after four years led their team to a strong position. Both made a strong partnership of 196 runs for the fifth wicket and put the New Zealand side in trouble. Sarfaraz was sacked after playing a brilliant 86-run innings and fell 14 runs shy of his century.

Babar has so far caught one winger and scored 161 runs. He has scored the ninth century of his Test career and is moving towards a wonderful double century. For the Kiwi team, left-arm spinner Ejaz Patel and all-rounder Michael Bracewell have each taken two wickets.
