Chhorii 2 Horror Movie Review: A Thrilling yet Flawed Sequel to Chhorii

Sakshi (Nusrat Bharucha) has been in hiding with her 7-year-old daughter Ishani (Hardika Sharma) for years. Their lives were turned upside down after they escaped from a sinister village where female infanticide was rampant. Sakshi fought against the evil customs that threatened their lives. Now, a sudden kidnapping pulls Sakshi back into the same nightmarish world she thought she’d left behind.

The village is still steeped in darkness, with a mysterious leader (Adi Manav) believed to be centuries old. Villagers think he survives on the youth of virgin girls. The leader’s wife (Sohana Ali Khan) is a complex figure – both frightening and fiercely determined. Sakshi and Ishani are dragged into a terrifying underground world, where Ishani is chosen as the next sacrifice. Sakshi must confront the evil head-on to rescue her daughter.

Plot Twists and Pacing Issues

The film tackles sensitive topics like female infanticide and child marriage. Director Vishal Furia has woven these issues into a gripping narrative, drawing from local folklore. However, some sequences feel overly long, slowing down the story. Despite this, the horror elements remain intense. The cinematography by Anshul Chhabra is standout, capturing chilling moments. The climax is intense and will keep horror fans on the edge of their seats.

Strong Performances from the Cast

Nusrat Bharucha shines as the determined Sakshi. Sohana Ali Khan brings depth to the role of the leader’s wife. Hardika Sharma, as Ishani, steals the show with her innocent yet powerful performance. Gashmeer Mahajani and Saurabh Goyal deliver solid supporting performances. The cast’s efforts elevate the film, making it a worthwhile watch for horror fans.
