Chhaava Breaks Bollywood Record with Historic Second Weekend Earnings

Vicky Kaushal’s film “Chhaava” has wrapped up another weekend at the box office, and it’s been a wild ride. Despite the India-Pakistan cricket match on Sunday, theaters were packed for the film’s shows – a testament to its enduring popularity. On Friday and Saturday, “Chhaava” raked in a significant amount of money, with a notable jump in earnings on Saturday.

However, Sunday’s earnings were slightly lower than Saturday’s, but still impressive considering the big cricket match. It’s not every day that a film manages to draw in such a large crowd despite a major sporting event. “Chhaava” has achieved a record in its second weekend that no Bollywood film has managed to accomplish so far.

Weekend Collection of “Chhaava”

By Thursday, “Chhaava” had already collected Rs 225 crore at the box office, taking down several big records in its first 7 days. The second week of the film started strong, with a good jump in earnings on Friday. On its 8th day, “Chhaava” collected Rs 24 crore, a 14% increase from the previous day. Saturday saw a massive jump in earnings, with the film collecting Rs 44 crore – an 80% growth. And on Sunday, despite the cricket match, “Chhaava” still managed to earn over Rs 40 crore, crossing the 300 crore mark at the box office in just 10 days.

After its second weekend, “Chhaava” has collected a total of over Rs 334 crore at the box office, becoming the biggest film of Vicky’s career.

“Chhaava” Sets Top Record for Second Weekend

The film collected over Rs 109 crore in its second weekend, making it the highest-grossing Bollywood film in its second weekend. This is a first for a Bollywood film, with no other movie having grossed over 100 crores in its second weekend.

The previous record holder was “Stree 2”, which earned Rs 93 crore in its second weekend. Sunny Deol’s “Gadar 2” came in second, with a collection of Rs 89 crores, followed by Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal” with Rs 88 crore.

In just 10 days, “Chhaava” has become the biggest film of Vicky’s career, with the actor now being the only star from the 2015 batch to have a solo film earning 300 crores. As “Chhaava” continues to perform well, it’s likely to join the 400 crore club soon and may even give the 500 crore club a run for its money. The question on everyone’s mind now is: how much will “Chhaava” ultimately earn, and will it become the biggest film of 2025?
