Chelsea Offers €35M for Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens Transfer

Chelsea is setting its sights on next season, with talks already underway to sign Borussia Dortmund’s young winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, according to BBC reports. The Blues have offered the 20-year-old a seven-year contract, and he’s open to making the move to Stamford Bridge.

Bynoe-Gittens, an English under-21 international, could bring a new dimension to Chelsea’s attack. However, the two clubs are yet to agree on a transfer fee. Chelsea is willing to pay around 35 million euros, but Dortmund wants more than 45 million euros.

The London club isn’t in a rush to finalize the deal and might wait until after the Club World Cup, where both teams will be competing. Bynoe-Gittens joined Dortmund from Manchester City’s academy in 2020 and made his Bundesliga debut two years later. Last season, he scored eight goals in 32 league games.

This potential signing follows the recent arrival of forward Liam Delap from Ipswich. If the deal goes through, Bynoe-Gittens would fit into Chelsea’s strategy to bolster its left-wing attack with a right-footed player.

Transfer negotiations

The transfer fee is the main hurdle in the negotiations.

  • Chelsea’s offer: around 35 million euros
  • Dortmund’s demand: more than 45 million euros

The clubs will likely continue talks in the coming days. If an agreement isn’t reached, Chelsea might wait until after the Club World Cup to revisit the negotiations.

Bynoe-Gittens’ background

The young winger has already made a name for himself in the football world.

  1. Joined Manchester City’s academy at a young age
  2. Moved to Borussia Dortmund in 2020
  3. Made his Bundesliga debut in 2022
  4. Scored eight goals in 32 league games last season

Bynoe-Gittens’ skills and experience make him an attractive signing for Chelsea. The club’s fans will be eager to see if the deal goes through and how he’ll perform in the Premier League.
