Chelsea made their first offer for Gabriel Moscardo

Chelsea have taken the first step in their attempt to sign promising youngster Gabriel Moscardo from Corinthians, submitting an offer that is reportedly well below the Brazilian club’s valuation. According to Goal Brazil, the formal offer is already on the table, but Corinthians has not yet made an official response, so the decision is still pending.

Chelsea made their first offer for Gabriel Moscardo

At 18, Moscardo has attracted the attention of major European clubs, with Chelsea leading the race for his services. Despite the original offer of €25 million, which includes add-ons, Corinthians, who had originally suggested a transfer fee of €30 million, are now demanding at least €35 million for the midfielder.

To make matters worse, Moscardo’s termination clause is set at €100 million, a figure Corinthians believes is unattainable. With presidential elections looming at the Brazilian club, the decision on Chelsea’s bid could depend on the direction the new government takes.

Barcelona have also expressed strong interest in Moscardo and recent setbacks, such as Gavi’s injury, could accelerate their efforts to sign the talented midfielder. The financial problem could give Chelsea an advantage, but with Arsenal also in the running, the competition for Moscardo is far from decided.

Corinthians have the final say and could choose to accept Chelsea’s offer or wait for the next president’s decision. Meanwhile, Arsenal could reconsider their position and outbid Chelsea. Barcelona’s financial uncertainty could give the English clubs a greater chance of securing a signing in January, but Corinthians will stick to their demands and avoid a sale unless their conditions for the 18-year-old midfielder are met.
