ChatGPT Unveils Group Chat, Lets 20 Users Collaborate with AI

ChatGPT has rolled out a new group chat feature, allowing teams to integrate artificial intelligence directly into collaborative work environments.

Designed for colleagues working together, the feature enables the AI to assist with various tasks such as searching, summarizing, or comparing information within group discussions.

Users engage the AI by typing @ChatGPT followed by their command or question. The AI then responds with messages, emojis, or concise summaries of key discussion points.

This functionality supports drafting documents, planning travel itineraries, or establishing discussion points for the AI to analyze, such as providing pros and cons or supporting data.

The group chat feature is accessible across all versions of ChatGPT, including Free, Go, Plus, and Pro, through both its application and website interfaces.

Up to 20 individuals can participate in a single group chat. Users can add members either directly from their contacts or by sharing an invitation link.

Upon joining, each participant is prompted to set up a brief personal profile, including a name, username, and profile picture, to help organize conversations. To maintain privacy, adding new members to an existing group automatically creates a new chat, ensuring past discussions remain undisturbed.
