Chase Chrisley: Savannah ‘Created Wedge’ Between Me, Grayson on New Reality Show

The Chrisley family drama is back on our screens, and it’s hitting close to home for brothers Chase and Grayson Chrisley. On their new series, ‘The Chrisleys: Back to Reality,’ the two didn’t hold back about the struggles in their relationship. Things are clearly strained between them.

The second episode, which aired on Monday, September 1st, showed Grayson, who is 19, drawing some heavy comparisons. He saw a lot of his own dynamic with Chase, 29, in how his dad, Todd Chrisley, acted with his uncle, Randy. Grayson told the cameras, "My problem is I see a lot of the same things between Chase and me that I saw between my dad and his brother." He explained that his dad and Randy didn’t talk much because Todd always had to bail Randy out of trouble. Grayson added a pointed observation: "You can’t help someone who doesn’t want to help themselves."

Grayson spent some time with his grandmother, Nanny Faye, who learned that Chase had invited Grayson to play golf. Nanny Faye seemed hopeful this golf outing could mend fences. Grayson, however, sounded a bit doubtful about it.

Chase gave his side of the story in a private moment on the show. He talked about his connection with his brother and brought up his sister, Savannah Chrisley. "I don’t see Grayson as often as I’d like," he shared. He then stated, "I feel like Savannah has created a little wedge there." Still, Chase mentioned he was excited to "have a good time" with Grayson and catch up on college life.

Family Under Pressure

Both Grayson and Savannah, who is 28, have voiced frustration. They felt Chase wasn’t there for the family after their parents, Todd, 56, and Julie Chrisley, faced prison time. Todd and Julie were convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud. They spent 28 months in separate facilities before being pardoned and released in May.

Grayson didn’t mince words about Chase during Monday’s episode. "Chase lives in his own world, which only exists for him. It doesn’t exist for anyone else," he said. He added, "At the end of the day, he’ll do what he wants to do, and no one can change it."

Golf Course Confrontation

During their golf game, Chase told his brother he wanted to avoid another "awkward" family dinner, like one shown in the Lifetime premiere. Grayson had some advice for Chase. He suggested a good starting point would be for Chase to "better himself, which benefits everyone." Earlier in the episode, the family reacted to Chase’s January arrest for minor injuries after a drunken night out in Atlanta.

Grayson pushed his older brother to try therapy. Chase quickly shot down the idea, claiming he didn’t need it. "You’re my brother, I love you," Grayson insisted. "I would love it if you could get your life on track."

Chase continued to put most of the blame for the family tension on his sister. "Savannah just wants to be adored, and I’m not going to do that," he told Grayson. He claimed his messages and calls to Savannah often go unanswered.

"I know Savannah wants to paint me as this big, bad monster who isn’t there for the family, but that’s not the case," Chase said in a confessional. "I want to be there for my family. I want us to actually have a family dynamic and relationship." He added, "I’ve reached out and apologized for anything I think I’ve done or haven’t done. And I told her I’ll be here when she’s ready. I just don’t think she is right now."

Grayson, however, saw things differently. He said Chase’s apology seemed sincere at first. Then, Chase allegedly told him, "You know, we just need to get along for the show." Grayson concluded, "He does everything for the cameras."

As tempers flared during the golf round, Chase warned a producer that he might just get up and leave. Grayson then threw up his hands. "We’re not getting anywhere with this," he said. "It’s a mess."

‘The Chrisleys: Back to Reality’ continues on Lifetime this Tuesday, September 2nd, at 8 p.m. Eastern time. Two more episodes will follow on September 9th. The season finale airs on September 16th.
