Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy visits CAEI

The charge d’affaires of the United States embassy in the country, Isiah Parnell, thanked the invitation to visit the Consorcio Azucarero de Empresas Industriales (CAEI) and learn more about the sugar sector in the Dominican Republic and its contribution to the economy.

He also appreciated the opportunity to learn about its collaboration with civil society organizations such as MOSCTHA, Save the Children and ANSPAC, as well as its commitment to sustainability and its work to improve the working and living conditions of its employees.

Parnell held a meeting with the executive vice president of CAEI, Benigno Trueba, as well as part of the company’s management and management team to learn first-hand about the social sustainability actions carried out by the company in its sugarcane communities.

Parnell visited the community of Nuevo Cayacoa in San Pedro de Macorís accompanied by the Political and Economic Advisor, Alexander Ted Bryan, as well as by Frederick Giles, Regional Agricultural Attaché. They were received, in addition to Trueba, by Héctor León, Director of Human Resources, Josefina Dieguez, Director of Sustainability, Hernando Cardona Aguilera, Director of Harvest and Workshops, as well as by Joan Rambalde, Stevens Calcaño, Ricardo Báez and Jacqueline Vásquez from the management team. of CAEI.

Benigno Trueba, executive vice president of CAEI, pointed out that when calling him to this meeting, they were motivated to expose the actions that the company has been carrying out for more than a decade to improve the quality of life of all its employees. “Our interest is to continue improving every day,” added Trueba.
