A 77-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday 17 August at his home in Vouzan (Charente) and taken into police custody. He is suspected of having raped a 13-year-old teenager on Monday in his vehicle in Puymoyen.
It was a cyclist who notified the police around 4 p.m., reported the Free Charente of an article ofNews17. The woman would have seen the teenager partially naked in the suspect’s vehicle.
According to the police news site, the septuagenarian pulled the victim out of his vehicle before fleeing.
The teenager reportedly told police that she was walking when she was abducted and kidnapped. They later allegedly raped her after refusing a few tens of euros to let him go, according to the media.
The police from the Angoulême police station managed to find the trail of the aggressor thanks to the testimonies and his license plate.
The septuagenarian was arrested on Tuesday. It would already be known to the police, in particular for the rape of a vulnerable person. The investigation is ongoing.
