The leader Luis Chanlatte decided to withdraw his candidacy for the presidency of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), whose electoral assembly is scheduled to take place on December 1st.

“I regret in the depths of my heart to retire after so many months of facing the current sports leadership,” Chanlatte said in a statement sent to the media.

Chanlatte, who evidently did not attract the support of his federated colleagues, says he is firmly convinced that only he could make the changes that the movement needed at this time “to rescue ethics, morality, transparency and Fair Play.”

“The movement is super divided and could be a bridge of unity, but the future will tell where we should direct our steps,” said the head of the Dominican Wushu Federation, who apologized to the Olympic movement for making a decision that was not part of your plans.

The decision leaves its current head, Antonio-Colin-Acosta, as well as engineers Garibaldi Bautista and José Manuel Ramos, presidents of the Dominican Federation of Softball and Equestrian Sports, on the list for the highest position of the body’s executive committee. respectively.
