AUS vs WI: Cricket Australia has announced a 14-member squad for the three-match T20 series against West Indies. All-rounder Mitchell Marsh was named captain of the team. Apart from Australia's regular captain Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Steve Smith will not be part of the T20 series. Cricket Australia has decided to give these players rest to cope with the workload. However, star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has returned to the team for the T20 series.
According to Cricbuzz's report, there is a high probability that Pat Cummins will take charge of the Australian team. Pat Cummins' return in the T20 series against New Zealand is considered certain. This series will make it clear who will take on Australia in the T20 World Cup. Starc will also feature in the series against New Zealand.
Maxwell returns
Mat Short has been given a chance in the team in place of Steve Smith. Recently, Short scored 541 runs in the Big Bash League. David will appear alongside Warner in the short opening. Glenn Maxwell has returned to the team. Maxwell was earlier from the ODI series. Fast bowler Nathan Ellis has also returned to the team.
