Change in the England team for the third test, the twin brothers got a place

There has been a change to the England squad for the third and final Test against New Zealand. England have named Surrey pacemaker Jamie Overton in the squad for the third and final Test which begins at Headingley on June 23. 28-year-old bowler Jamie will join the team along with his twin brother Craig. Jamie has shown excellent form in the county championship playing for Surrey. He has taken 21 wickets this season at an average of 21.61.

In his first-class career of 81 matches, Jamie has taken 206 wickets, including five half centuries. The fast bowler also had a shot at England’s ODI team against New Zealand in 2015, but did not play a single match.

England lead the three-game series 2-0, Headingley reports Tuesday afternoon before game three kicks off on Thursday. Meanwhile, Craig has not participated in the first two Tests. In the third Test, the hosts can make changes to their playing XI, which will likely give Overton a chance. The twin brothers will be the first to play Test Cricket for England.

However, there is little chance of a change to England’s batting order for the latest Test. Jack Crawley’s form remains a cause for concern for England. With the England team already taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series, they may risk giving Jack Crawley another chance.

England team for the third test: Ben Stokes (captain), James Anderson, Jonathan Bairstow, Stuart Broad, Harry Brooke, Jack Crowley, Ben Fox, Jack Leach, Alex Lies, Craig Overton, Jamie Overton, Matthew Potts, Ollie Pope and JoeRoot.
