Champions Trophy heads to Pakistan after thrilling India tour

The Indian phase of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 recently concluded in Mumbai and Bangalore, with the tournament trophy visiting major sites in both cities. The tournament is scheduled to start on February 19 and will feature matches played in Pakistan and Dubai, with the final taking place on March 9. A total of eight teams will participate in this tournament, and the trophy has visited these eight countries during its tour. At the end of the Indian phase, the trophy will proceed to Pakistan for the final stage of its journey.

The trophy’s visit to Mumbai included stops at prominent locations such as Wankhede Stadium, Shivaji Park, Gateway of India, Carter Road, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, and Bandstand. Notably, the trophy was also displayed during a ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of Wankhede Stadium. This event, held at the historic Wankhede Stadium, showcased the audience’s enthusiasm for the trophy.

Subsequently, the trophy visited several major sites in Bengaluru, including Nexus Santiniketan Mall, Bangalore Palace, Freedom Park, KR Market, Town Hall, St. Mary Basilica, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Church Street, and Vidyarthi Bhavan. Local spectators gathered at these locations to catch a glimpse of the trophy, expressing their excitement and enthusiasm. The ICC released a statement highlighting the uniqueness of the trophy’s visit, which aims to create an electrifying atmosphere for the upcoming Champions Trophy by giving cricket fans a chance to engage with the tournament.

With the conclusion of the Indian phase, the trophy will now proceed to Pakistan for its final visit before the tournament begins. This visit is not only an essential part of promoting the tournament but also generates anticipation among fans. In the tournament, Team India is scheduled to play against Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand, with all their matches taking place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
