Bollywood filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan recently revealed that Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty had rejected ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ before Malaika Arora was chosen for the famous song.
Farah Khan revealed, “Every heroine had refused to do this song.” That’s why I say, “You have to be at the right place at the right time.” She further said, “Nobody knew Malaika was a model, I knew her , because we knew Arbaaz and then we saw her.” I didn’t even know she could dance.
Earlier, Farah had revealed in an interview, “Two days before shooting the song, I called Malaika to do a song.” Earlier, we had contacted six to seven heroines but it didn’t work out.
Farah said, “We were confused about who to choose for this song.” Then Mickey Contractor told me that Malaika was a very good dancer. I said, “Malaika is a model” and I was shocked to see how she would dance in a ghagra choli. So I called him to Ooty two days ago and we rehearsed at night and shot during the day.
He further said, “We put her on the train, she was really shaking, there was no security, nothing.” She wore no makeup, just kohl and a tattoo and yes, Shah Rukh was with her.
