Chaco For Ever beat Sarmiento on penalties for the Argentine Cup

Chaco For Ever defeated Sarmiento de Junín this afternoon 6-5 on penalties at the Brigadier Estanislao López Stadium in Santa Fe, and advanced to the round of 32 of the Copa Argentina 2023, where they will meet Rosario Central or Central Norte de Salta .

The match did not deliver much, it was 90 minutes of friction without great work for the goalkeepers of both “Verde” and “Albinegro”. On penalties, for Israel Damonte’s team the experienced Lisandro López, Alejandro Donatti and Javier Toledo started kicking -and converting-. In the fourth, Sergio Quiroga did the same and, in the last of the shootout, Franco Quinteros also scored.

Cristian Ibarra, Matías Romero, Federico Boasso, Ricardo Garay and Leandro Allende scored for the second category team.

The definition was hand in hand, Lucas Melano made a mistake for those from the northwest of Buenos Aires and Mateo Maccari converted, with suspense, to give the Chacos a pass to the next phase.

The “Albinegro”, who advances to the round of 32 of the federal contest, will immediately receive Chacarita Juniors next Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the Juan Alberto García Stadium, for the fifth date of Zone B of the First National.

On the other side, the Juninenses will face Racing Club next Sunday at the Juan Domingo Perón Stadium at 5:00 p.m.
