César Valdez will be responsible for providing a new victory for Licey in the Caribbean Series

The right-hander César Valdez is the one who has the responsibility of opening the closing match on the fourth day of the Caribbean Series for the Tigres del Licey, when they face the Leones de Caracas, at 7:30 pm at the La Rinconada Stadium in Caracas Venezuela.

The experienced pitcher is coming off winning the Pitcher of the Year award. He also wrote his name in the history books of Dominican Winter Baseball in the previous season, after reaching the pitching triple crown in the 2021-22 regular round of LIDOM.

In his career in Lidom, Valdez has won multiple awards including Most Valuable Player of the 2016-17 Final Series, Pitcher of the Year in the 2019-20 season. Triple Crown of Pitching, Most Valuable Player and Pitcher of the Year in the 2021-22 campaign.

This is the sixth time that the pitcher has participated in the Caribbean classic, the first being in the 2015 edition, with the Venezuelan team, the Caribes de Anzoátegui.

He accumulates an earned run average of 1.85, 25 strikeouts, 3 tickets awarded and a WHIP of 0.85, in five editions of said competition.

He has seen action in six games, five of them as a starter, in which he has accumulated 29.2 innings in which he has allowed 22 hits.
